Old Time Fudge

2 Cup(s) sugar
3/4 Cup(s) milk
2 Ounce(s) unsweetened baking chocolate
1 Dash(s) salt
1 Teaspoon(s) corn syrup
2 Tablespoon(s) butter
1 Teaspoon(s) vanilla extract

Butter sides of a 2 quart sauce pan. Add sugar, milk, chocolate,
salt, and karo. Stir as mixture comes to a boil. Without stirring,
boil until soft ball stage or 234 F. Remove from heat, add butter
and vanilla. Allow to cool without stirring until 110 F. Beat until
fudge begins to lose its gloss and begins to thicken. Quickly pour
into 8 x 8 x 2 buttered pan. Cut while warm.
