Grandpa Studer passed away Thursday, Jan 6th. He had been fighting various cancers and was about to start treatment again. We were lucky enough to have spent some time with him on New Year’s day and he seemed to be doing quite well. He had surgery on Tuesday to prepare for the cancer treatment and that seemed to go well also. Apparently Thursday morning he was just snoring away, and then stopped. So he got his wish. He always wanted to just pass in his sleep, and God let him go in is own way.
Grandma was in the hospital at the same time, which is probably for the better because she had help and support of the doctors and nurses in dealing with her emotional pain.
I have a lot of fond memories with Grandpa, especially of our vacations with Ben and Steffanie. He will be missed by all.
